Spring Paintings, 100 Day Challenge, and More

Gabriella's Studio Newsletter

May 2026

I'm excited to share that I had a table of new paintings premiere at the Oregon Mozart Players Annual Fundraiser Brunch on April 19th, in Eugene. I donated a percentage of sales from that day to the long-standing chamber music group. I was fortunate to have violin lessons as a child and played until my first year in college. A few years after that I sold my violin for art supply money, and my mom has never forgiven me (sorry mom!). As I continue to find my way back into painting with three kids and a full family life, I find I am enjoying collaboration across disciplines - with poets, musicians, community organizations and more. Creative energy begets more creative energy. Below I share with you the news of the last few months including new paintings, my 100 Day Trust Challenge, works recently acquired by collectors, and more. Happy May!

Oregon Mozart Players

I immersed myself in painting plum blossoms and other flowers in the month of March to prepare new work to feature at the OMP fundraiser. The night before, I attended their spring concert "Rising Tides." As I've shared, hearing live classical music performed is so soothing to my nervous system. I can breathe and relax in much the same way as I do when I start to paint. The arts are healing, and we can all help to keep them alive and thriving in our communities. If you missed your chance on Sunday to buy a painting and donate, OMP announced a new opportunity. Thanks to the support of some generous donors, every single donation received before June 30th will be doubled up to $45,000! Here is a link that will take you right to their donation page.

Featured New Work

I enjoyed a flurry of painting in March as I prepared for the OMP event. Here are three of my favorite paintings that are still available to collect. All paintings are framed with a lovely white-washed wood floater frame. If you would like additional views send me a message.

Updated Website

I've updated my website with a new artist statement, bio, and gallery navigation. You can now browse by "Recent Work" which will take you to Landscape, Florals, and Works on Paper. Or you can view dozens of my past still life paintings by year in my "Archive." I've been painting steadily since the early 2000's and I have many paintings from different periods, all ready to hang and grace your home with the character that only original art can provide. If you are local, you can arrange to do a trial in your home to see how the art looks on the wall. I find that is helpful for people who like something but are unsure how it fits with what they already have. Contact me to learn more.

Collectors Corner

Below are a few of the many paintings that have found homes recently. If you are a collector of my work and would be willing to send a photo of the painting(s) in your space, I would love to share!

Do you have a wall or special nook calling out for an original painting? I mat works on paper to a standard frame size and can assist in all types of custom framing. Browse available paintings at my Square Shop

100 Day Trust Challenge

I am part of an amazing group of artists from around the world called Growth Studio. We meet three times a week on zoom for coaching, critique, and Friday Art Chat. We started a 100 Day Trust Challenge in April. The idea is to pick an area of our art practice that we want to grow in, set some parameters, and then do it for 100 days, not with the aim of perfection, but with the spirit of treating ourselves with kindness even on the days we fall short...

"In Letters from the Studio I’ll share what’s on my mind or what I’m working on. In my journey back to painting after a pause raising young children, I am rediscovering all the ways making art is restorative, healing, and connects you to your higher purpose. Writing helps me think, and sharing helps me connect - I hope you find something to take away from my musings, and I appreciate you joining me!"

Help My Newsletter Grow

One of my goals right now is to find the joy in sharing my work and to connect with kindred spirits, art collectors, designers, and anyone who cares about the power of the creative arts. If you know someone who loves painting, needs art for their home, and/or is interested in thoughts on the creative process, would you pass this along to them? If you are not already a subscriber, here is the link to sign up for my Newsletter. I promise to share with honesty the beauty and the struggle of being a creative person in a world that often devalues this path. If you have been meaning to get back to something creative in your life, do it today, even if only for five minutes! I know you will feel the power of that small move.

With Gratitude,

Gabriella Soraci
